It was said that Samsung might launch a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 equipped variant of their Note 4 smartphone while the current Note 4 either comes with Exynos 7 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SOC. Now a new evidence has been seen on the website of Geekbench which provides benchmarks of different smartphones.
A Samsung smartphone was listed there by the model number SM-N916S which was running Android lollipop 5.0 and was equipped with MSM8994 processor, which is also known as Qualcomm Snapdragon 810. It is also reported that the smartphone would only be available in the South Korea and might not get launched globally though in terms of design the smartphone would look the same like the normal Samsung Galaxy Note 4 but will come with an updated SOC.
Qualcomm also just announced that they have added support for LTE Category 9 on their Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SOC with the help of which the SOC would be able to attain download speeds of up to 450MBPS on a network that supports 20MHz.
If you don’t know Qualcomm Snapdragon is a 64-bit octa core processor which consists of 8 cores and stands at the highest rank in Qualcomm’s line of processors which also supports LTE Category 9 now. This would be a great addition to the new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 but like always Samsung only does this for South Korea.Qualcomm provides the best SOC and we know that for sure as most of the well-recognized smartphone manufacturers always equip their smartphones with Qualcomm’s SOC.
Android smartphone nowadays are all about power, but we would like to see Android so optimized that it does not require such powerful hardware to run smoothly, for now that does not seem possible but maybe in the future it would be.
