Often termed as the backbones of the CCTV industry, the Day/Night, infra-red cameras are perhaps one of the most commonly used workhorses of modern day surveillance systems. If you keep an eye out for them, you’ll notice them everywhere, ranging from your bank to the supermarket, to even the hospital. However, they can also be pretty expensive if you have to cover a larger premise. That’s why quite a few people forgo these great cameras for cheaper and often low-quality alternatives. However, CCTV42 have a great solution for that: their K series, standard body Day/Night cameras. Where their regular, premium body cameras are on the expensive side, these attractive looking cameras cost less than the vandal dome models available with CCTV42.

Design

K series cameras come in a tough, rugged, metal body much like the bigger premium body cameras, but they are sleeker and smaller. Along with that, they are IP rated for outdoor use as well, and that makes them great for both indoor and outdoor use. The build quality is second to none in its class, and it looks great. They come with a detachable sun shade that when removed, makes the camera look like a small LED spotlight. This means that it’ll fit in perfectly you’re your décor without seeming too out of place.

Features

The K series currently has two lens options available; a 3.6mm wide angle lens, and an 8mm general purpose lens simvastatin price. Infrared illumination comes standard, as does CCTV42’s Pro Sony electronics pack. This makes them great for capturing video and images in low or no light conditions. The Pro Sony electronics pack enables the K series to record color video and images even in low light situations where most cameras switch over to IR illumination and black and white recording.

Lenses

The two lenses on offer are purpose built and hence, are great at what they do. The 3.6mm wide angle lens has an 80-degree field of view, which makes it great for overwatch and covering entire rooms and exterior areas at the same time. However, that wider field of view means that its maximum detail recording distance is limited to 3 to 4 meters in illuminated areas.

The 8mm lens has a narrower field of view, of 40 degrees, but a longer range of about 6 to 8 meters. This makes it ideal for general monitoring of any areas, guarding doorways and entry points, and especially corridors or hallways because of the closer in detail.

Installation

The K series comes with a sturdy wall mount and two axis adjustment system, allowing you to vertically, and horizontally align the camera into the right position with a very straightforward hinge mechanism. Like the rest of the CCTV lineup, the power and video connections are the industry standard DC and BNC plugs, making them compatible with any CCTV system. This makes them perfect for any DIY CCTV system as well.
